Blaze IP

Web Development
Project Overview
Blaze IP is the website for a Canadian intellectual property law firm offering services across trademarks, patents, copyright, and IP strategy. The project focused on delivering a stable, professional, and highly usable web experience that supports the firm’s credibility and makes complex legal information easy to navigate. My work centered on building a reliable frontend implementation that aligned with the approved visual designs and functioned seamlessly across devices and browsers.
My Contributions
I worked on this project as the frontend developer and was not responsible for the visual design. Using CSS (LESS) and PHP, I implemented layouts, components, and interactions within MacGregor Marketing Inc.’s proprietary CMS, Seamless. My responsibilities included translating static designs into responsive templates, maintaining clean and scalable stylesheets, and ensuring consistent behavior across screen sizes. The result is a performant, maintainable frontend build that supports the firm’s content and functionality while integrating smoothly with the underlying CMS.
For the Blaze IP website, I worked as the sole frontend developer, responsible for translating the approved visual designs into a fully functional, responsive website. The site was built within MacGregor Marketing Inc.’s proprietary CMS, Seamless, which required adapting frontend patterns to an existing CMS architecture while ensuring flexibility and maintainability. I implemented page templates and reusable components using PHP, structuring markup to support dynamic content while maintaining semantic HTML and consistent layout behavior across the site.

On the styling side, I authored and maintained the site’s styles using CSS with LESS, organizing stylesheets in a modular, scalable way to support reuse and long-term maintenance. I handled responsive behavior across breakpoints, ensuring layouts adapted smoothly from desktop to mobile, and addressed cross-browser compatibility issues to deliver a consistent experience. Throughout development, I focused on performance, accessibility, and clean code practices, refining components and interactions through iterative testing. The final result is a stable, well-structured frontend build that integrates with the Seamless CMS and supports the firm’s professional online presence.
